About the Campaign

In the past two years, YUWA has successfully completed IMOS (Identification and Management of Open Spaces), the project of IOM with the support of US AID/OFDA and Nepal Government sensitizing more than 14 thousand people about open spaces in Kathmandu Valley.

Since 2012, each year 10 Youth Activists Leadership Council (YALC) members contribute to advocacy of Comprehensive Sexuality Education in schools and sensitization on SRHR issues from grass-root to national level. Through the project “Grassroots Innovation for Transformation”(GIFT), YUWA developed 3 local entrepreneurs from different rural municipalities in Sindhuli. YUWA is also a platform secretariat to the strategic partnership Right Here, Right Now (RHRN) Nepal consisting of 15 civil society organizations which advocate on comprehensive sexuality education, safe abortion and marriage equality.

In partnership with UNFPA Nepal, they prepared a SDGs Booklet “My SDGs My Responsibility”,used for advocating SDGs through Digo Talks workshop under the SDGs department of YUWA. Likewise, participants of 2017 Prarambha workshop, under the Active Citizenship Department formed a NGO named Girls Empowered by Travel (GET). Youth Leads in Emergency was a post-earthquake initiative of UNFPA and Restless Development in partnership with YUWA to deliver programs aimed at providing life skills and SRHR training. One such program was YUWA Aawaz, a weekly radio program aired on Ujyalo FM 90 MHz completing 50+ episodes in SDGs and SRHR sensitization. YUWA also partnered with UNFPA Nepal to undertake a one-month long country-level assessment to examine the engagement and inclusion of youth in peace-building through the Micro Capital Grant Agreement.
