About the Campaign
CIL Kathmandu is working in collaboration with ‘Infinity Lab’ and ‘Balaju School of Engineering and Technology (BSET)’ which they have named ‘Thau Workshop’. They manufacture, maintain and repair wheelchairs, in Nepal itself, for the physically challenged people.
It is the only organization for differently abled people in Nepal that is leading the Independent Living Movement and using its position to push the government to improve conditions for those living with disabilities in Nepal. Their primary categories of work include:
- Advocacy
- Peer support
- Awareness raising
- Assistive Devices and Technology
CIL-Kathmandu also invests in studies and research in the field of assistive devices to discover new technologies and innovative approaches, to ensure that people with disabilities receive the best possible support available.
Where will the funds go?
CIL Kathmandu and ‘Thau Workshop’ have started manufacturing well customized wheelchairs in Nepal to provide services to people with disabilities and elderly people. The funds raised will be utilized for manufacturing and repairing of wheelchairs for enabling mobility rights for every individual who needs wheelchair as a part of their daily living.
