About the Campaign
HURON was established with an aim to introduce, safeguard and promote the standards and values of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR 1948) in Nepal. Emphasizing that all human rights are universal and interrelated, HURON also aims to work for the peace, justice and security in both national as well as international arena without prejudice to any individual. The greatest strength of the organization lies in its large membership base, which represents all the political persuasions-left, right and center and they are spread throughout the country in all 77 Districts.
Their categories of work include Transitional Justice, Refugee Rights, Petitions, Legal Cases & Decisions, Human Rights Education, Election Monitoring and Observation, Networking, Advocacy and lobbying, legal assistance, organizing press meets negotiations, mediation, dialogues discussions with the stakeholders through civil protests, submission of memorandums and raising their voices on media.
Where will the funds go?
The funds raised will be utilized to organize an interaction event and lobbying meetings with stakeholders to ensure rights for the victims of human rights violation in Nepal.
