About the Campaign

Approach

When CSN takes on the management of a school, it implements a school improvement plan focused on four areas – improving the quality and quantity of: Teaching, Management, Parents and Community relations, and Infrastructure

In order to achieve this, CSN appoints two School Leaders in each school it manages. School Leaders have three roles:

  1. Teacher – they teach a small number of lessons each day, to demonstrate to other teachers the standards they should aspire too, and to maintain their credibility with government teachers.
  2. Coach – they provide day-to-day coaching support to government teachers, to help them develop good lesson plans, to monitor their teaching and give them feedback.
  3. Leader – they lead the school improvement process in partnership with the existing teachers and principal.

Impacts:

Student Enrolment: Since CSN took over the management of Bhanodaya School, the number of students has increased by almost 650% (20 students to more than 150). More than 40 students came from private schools. In Jana Uddhar School, the number of students has almost doubled, and in our primary section it increased by 163% in just two years. Student Attendance: Student attendance at Jana Uddhar School has increased by 11%, which is the equivalent to an extra half day in school for every student, every week. In Bhanodaya, student attendance has leaped from 54% in the year before we joined the school, to 92% today.

Where will the funds go?

The funds raised will be used for providing quality education and supporting the software parts of the school, and also to provide free Mid-Day meal, Stationary and Uniform/shoes facilities for children.
