Blind Youth Association Nepal

Blind Youth Association of Nepal is a non-political, non-religious, non-profit Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) established by the blind and partially sighted (BPS) youth of Nepal. It is a national association for youth aged between 18-35 years, founded in 2011 and registered with the District Administration Office, Kathmandu in 2012 and affiliated with the Social Welfare Council of Nepal. It is only the organization, in Nepal, established by the blind and partially sighted (BPS) youth themselves. They are currently operating with a total of 250 members, who are organized through five district chapters located in Jhapa, Kathmandu, Kaski, Rupandehi and Banke districts. Memberships and chapter expansion are still ongoing.

About the Campaign

Blind Youth Association Nepal(BYAN) has been running a

project for organizational development, employment and self-

employment promotion for blind and partially sighted persons,

inclusive education for visually impaired students, policy

advocacy, awareness and sensitization program and disaster

management and relief distribution.

Fund Utilization Statement:

BYAN mainly focus on inclusive education to both blind and partially sighted persons. Through this fund, we will buy stationary material such as copy, books, pencils, pen, dresses etc. We will also provide scholarship to those blind students who are economically derived which covers school admission fee and other expenses in school.
