Kathmandu Environmental Education Project (KEEP)

Kathmandu Environmental Education Project (KEEP) , established in 1992, serves as a Travelers’ information center, providing visitors with free and unbiased information about trekking in Nepal. It aims to provide information on environmental, social and cultural aspects of Nepal to generate awareness among the travelers and the local people that helps to minimize the negative impact of tourism on environment and culture. The center also stresses on the need for every trekker to be aware of the ‘minimum impact code’ to ensure preservation of the pristine environment in those Himalayan regions.
